An excellent source of adventure!

Welcome

The Tour of British Columbia (TdBC) was designed and developed to provide an ultra-distance bicycle challenge of epic proportions. The inaugural Tour of British Columbia route captures the very best natural beauty that Canada has to offer. Cyclist will traverse over 48,000 vertical meters as they make their way through several mountain ranges and pass by glaciers, their fresh water lakes and rivers. Wildlife is abundant, bears populate much of the course and huge bison are found in the northern regions, but everywhere wildlife is abundant with over 450 different species living along the TdBC National & Provincial Parks, World Heritage Sites, the summer resorts of the Okanagan. Williams Lake, Whistler, BC and the great northern hinterlands of the province all provide a spectacular back drop to the intensity of the cycling.

While we targeted producing a course that would challenge the world’s greatest ultra-endurance cyclists we were also very keen at making the course more rider-friendly to a wider scope of cyclists. We accomplished this by providing more generous official time limits for each established division. We also timed the event for August 4th, 2013 allowing riders all of spring and a generous portion of summer to prepare for the TdBC. We also offer free race-plan consulting via email and telephone for all participants and we can help make motel/hotel reservations as well as assist with vehicle rentals.

To truly be rider-friendly we have worked very hard to reduce cost for competitors in numerous ways. By both starting and finishing in White Rock, BC cyclists and their crews who fly to the TdBC will be able to book round trip tickets via either the Bellingham International Airport located in Washington State, USA but only 30 kilometers from White Rock or they may chose Vancouver International Airport on the Canadian side of the border and still within 30 kilometers of the start finish line. Support vehicles, SUV’s, other vehicles and motor-homes may also be rented and returned to the same location.

More directly, we not only offer low cost registrations, we reward participants by guaranteeing the same registration fee for 3 years. Part of the package we call our Original Rider Benefits.

We firmly believe in the merits, rewards and experience of ultra-endurance bicycle racing and we are pleased to offer the Tour of British Columbia as an exciting new event. It all begins in in White Rock, British Columbia on August 4th, 2013.
