There are those amongst us that realize amazing achievements, not out of the throes of necessity, but by the sweat of ambition. These accomplishments spark our senses and embolden our souls with a powerful force. They demonstrate that anything is possible and that determination is half the equation to success in almost any situation. These victories help us imagine new possibilities, they enrich our dreams and inflate our hope. They give us strength.

Ultra-endurance cycling is defined and interpreted in many ways but at its core it allows people to explore their primal instincts and discover exactly how far they can go.

I created the Tour of British Columbia to provide the opportunity to do just that.

5,100 kilometers and 48,000 meters of climbing over, through and around mountain ranges, past glaciers, in front of 450 different types of animals (that populate the course), the Alaska Highway, remote Northern British Columbia, National Parks, World Heritage Sites and a whole bunch of rain-forest guarantee a world class two-wheeled adventure of the ultra-endurance kind.

The pain will fade but the accomplishment can never be taken away.
