CONGRATULATIONS RYDER HESJEDAL!
While Canada’s sporting accomplishments might be best known for hockey, curling and ski events, Canada has a very proud tradition of developing champion cyclists. Some our greatest are: Alison Sydor, Lori-Ann Muenzer, Eric Wohlberg, Steve Bauer, Roland Green, Curt Harnett, Clara Hughes, Brian Walton, Gord Singleton, Jocelyn Lovell, Marie-Hélène Premont, Alex Stieda, Cindy Devine and Tanya Dubnicoff. (Look them up people and you will find there is a lot more to Canada than ice and beer!)
With all due respect to all of Canada’s great male and female listed above and all those that we failed to mention Ultraletic Sports believe that Ryder Hesjedal’s victory in the Giro d’Italia marks the greatest day in Canadian cycling history. He did more than win an epic Grand Tour event, he performed with a humbleness and professionalism directed by desire, ambition and ability and he made a proud nation even prouder.
Ultraletic Sports wants to thank Ryder Hesjedal and the entire Garmin Barracuda team for producing this historic day in Canadian History. We join cycling fans across Canada and around the world in offering our congratulations and our applause, Bravo Mr. Hesjedal, Bravo!
